Have you always wanted to learn more about jazz piano but don't know where to begin or think it's beyond your grasp?

Did you play piano at a young age, drop it, and now find yourself eager to resume lessons?

Are you curious about improvisation, chords, and learning how to expand your creativity at the keyboard?

If you answered "yes", I think I can help you further your skills at the piano. I engage my students on several levels so that they progress not only technically but learn to develop a satisfying sound at the keyboard and an appreciation of different styles. This is accomplished by working with chords/scales and their connection to the given melody and harmony. Together we explore pathways of understanding and enjoying music beyond just reading the notes.

I work with students of all ages but prefer to work with students who already have some piano background and are eager to explore jazz. I work with adults who would like to resume lessons, possibly learn to play from a leadsheet, or want direction on how to approach jazz. It is a thrill for me to see a student realize his or her potential, go beyond self-imposed limitations, and experience the joy in making music.
